Ideally an ISA certified arborist should inspect trees on your property every three to five years, but this is just a rule of thumb.
How often do trees need to be inspected and maintained?
In this video we will help you navigate this question as well as describe some of the techniques we use at Rockwood Tree Services.
Ideally an ISA certified arborist should inspect trees on your property every three to five years, but this is just a rule of thumb.
Older trees degrade more rapidly than younger trees so they should ideally be inspected every year if you are concerned about their health.
Younger trees don't need to be inspected or maintained as often, but if damage to the tree has occurred, such as damage from a storm, an inspection may be required immediately.
Our tree assessment and maintenance services are designed to help you identify what shape your tree is in and take steps to allow them to thrive.
If trees cannot be saved we provide full removal services.
Some techniques we use at rockwood to maintain the health of trees are as follows:
1.'Dead Wooding' is to remove dead, dying and diseased branches throughout the crown.
Subsequently, any crossing, rubbing and damaged branches are removed too.
2. Crown Thinning involves the selective removal of some inner and outer branches evenly throughout the trees crown.
3. Bracing of weak unions or large spreading trees involves the threading of a steel cable or composite line through the tree and using it to tighten the branches.
We also offer Non static cable techniques as to not harm the tree. We use slings for adjustment so it moves with the tree also called Cobra Cable method.
Whether you’re looking to replace a tree that’s been removed or wanting to welcome a new tree into your landscape, we offer thoughtful tree planting services!
We take special care in tree species selection, encourage planting the “right tree for the right spot”, and ensure proper installation so the tree can thrive in its new home!

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
